I own a house

I haven't written anything in a while because of crazy work life balance, something that the house is meant to rectify. But I am officially a home owner, the week before Christmas everything came together and I picked up my keys. I own a house, how insane is that. So I had my first look around the house since I put in my offer, which was refreshing. The survey report was very doom and gloom and I had been worrying that I had bitten off way more than I could chew. However, being back in my house I found I could relax more because I could see the issues and actually start planning, which has relaxed me somewhat. I also had forgotten how big the actual house is, so being in the house meant that some of my ideas will not work in the space and other ideas are actually possible which is exciting. Therefore the next series of posts will show pictures of what the house is like now, room by room and measurements of the rooms, with a post that shows the current floor plan and the potential future floorplan.

Additionally I had forgotten that the grant does cover an additional amount for if you are restoring an old farmhouse with which to hire an architect in order to finalise plans and give insight. Originally this is something I was planning on doing myself, however as it is covered under the grant, it is something I am planning on hiring someone to go over the plans with and insure I have covered everything.

But for now the celebration and dreams for the new house.
