The Wet Room

Updated: Sep 29
You have seen how I picture my kitchen, however at the moment the main door enters into the kitchen. Which is fine if people are clean and dry, but I feel like it results in a lot of mess and detritus ending up in the kitchen when people come in that way. So I have a plan, or a notion of a plan, but a fairly strong notion.
At the moment I have a set of store rooms which are joined to the main house but there is no access to the house from them. So I would like to turn the storage room on the side of the kitchen into my wet room enterance, which would join to a little corridor next to my pantry.
It will effectively be a relatively long, narrow utility room that is completely tiled and water sealed. On the left of the outside door I want to put a shower next to the main floor drain with a beautiful translucent wall next to it. I just want to point out that this isn't the main house bathroom, just a shower from when you don't want to trample mud through the house.
Next to that will be a moveable clothes rack which stuff like wetsuits can be rinsed and hung on. Then I want one of those massive old farm sinks, which has an extendable shower head tap and a reasonably large surface next to it. Then above the sink and counter top I want a set of cupboards for stuff like hats, gloves and dog walking accessories.
In the corner I want to put a cubicle toilet (for those times when you have just got home and you have to pee right now) and then on the back wall will be the washing machine and dryer, with a counter top above to sort washing on.
As I said, a notion of a plan, once I have some more detailed measurements I will solidify the plan. I don't actually have any pictures of the whole idea for the room because it is a somewhat eclectic mix of bathroom, utility room and clock room, however here are some pictures of the kind of inspiration I am going for.
